English Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia)

Native to the Mediterranean, lavender spread into northern Europe with the Romans who took it to ensure a steady supply of their favourite bath oil. Lavender is a beautiful and fragrant ornamental.

It is one of the World's finest perfume herbs. Commonly used in potpourri, lavender is also wonderful in teas, jams, jellies and preserves.
