Cornus nuttallii

Also known as Western Flowering Dogwood. Pacific Dogwood is the official floral emblem of British Columbia. It is one of only two tree species in the province that is legally protected, the other is Cascara. Pacific Dogwood is relatively common along the south coast, where it grows at elevations below 300 metres (1000 feet) in deep, well-drained soils. Normally rowing to approximately 9 metres (30 fee) tall and 0.3 metres (1 foot) in diameter.
